Summer Tournament 2010
Our annual summer tournament was held on 5th June
at Suffolk Police HQ in Martlesham.
A big thank you to all the helpers who help make the day possible, in particular Mark Newbould who
as tradition now dictates for U16 managers, ran the BBQ.
Holding the Tournament at the Police HQ presents some unique challenges, combined this year with building works
but it is nonetheless a superb setting for the Tournament and we thank Suffolk Constabulary for allowing us use
of it.
We witnessed some great football, superb goals, and matches contested in a hard but sporting manner.
It was pleasing to receive a comment from the referee of the U9 age group who spoke highly of the sportmanship
shown between players, coaches and towards the referee with both teams and managers lining up before and after
matches to acknowledge their opponents and the official.
It was a cracking day hopefully enjoyed by all those who took part, approximately 430 players......
now to relax and cheer England on!
