At this age level Martlesham Jets have kept their squad from last season with the exception of one player moving on and in turn gained the Division 1 experience of another making a strong squad of 19 players, as we tackle our second season in the top flight of U11 football in the South Suffolk Youth League (Division 1) with the same mini soccer 7 a-side format of two teams split into an A & B. Along with that we are looking to continue with the progression we have made so far with our understanding and knowledge of the game. We value and support the FA Respect campaign and always focus our attentions heavily on fun and fair play.
Along with that we are looking to continue with the progression we have made so
far, with our understanding and knowledge of the game. We value and support the
FA Respect campaign and always focus our attentions heavily on fun and fair
play.
We start the season in buoyant mood after consolidating our place in the league with a very respectable mid table 6th place finish after promotion the previous season in our A team and a 7th place finish for our B’s.We also had a very successful summer by adding two new pieces of silverware to our collection to take the tally to five with wins in our Martlesham Youth Summer Tournament and the Brantham Summer Tournament. In addition to this we came Runners Up in the Needham Market Phoenix Summer Tournament, so hopes are high for this season with objectives to continue to develop our technical ability, keep our great team spirit and to try and improve on last season’s league finish by breaking in to the top 5. Anything else will be a bonus for the boys.
There is a strong desire from the manager through to the parents to guide the children and help them develop great self esteem, personal values and their football skills. The coaches understand that the boys are now at their most impressionable age as we enter the “the golden years of coaching”. The players have been playing together for over 5 years now from the age of five and have become good friends with great attitudes towards each other and a tremendous team spirit.
This was cemented even further when part of the squad welcomed back their sister team ESL from France for the return leg of the Easter Exchange weekend where they hosted their guests and bonded well and rekindled friendships formed from the previous year. They are also fortunate to have great support from their parents who are always there, rain or shine, cheering them on and offering help to the coaches and fundraising for the team.

Black Tiles Pub & Restaurant who in turn provided funding for all of our training wear.
SEA Transport Ltd. who sponsor our away kit.
