Team History

Martlesham Bombers were formed in June 2004. We are currently enjoying our second season in Felixstowe & District League. We have a squad of 19, which is split into teams each week.
The management believe in giving every squad member an equal chance, which we are sure, has helped to build a good team spirit in such a short time. The squad enjoys strong support from parents and friends each week.

Season Summary (2005/06)

The Bombers "A" team steadily improved through the season, culminating with completing a great double over the eventual third place team. This win moved the Bombers up two places to finish 7th in the league. The "A" team's Most Improved player went to our goalkeeper Sam "The Sponge" Wilson, who started the season between the sticks for the "B" team. Captain Jordan Simpson won both the Players' Player and the Parents' Player awards.
The "B" team went one better and finished in 6th place with several players showing their potential to break into the "A" team.
Most improved Player went to Matt Johnson and our mini-marvel Ash Cribb won both Players' Player and Parents' Player awards.
We completed our season with an 11-a-side game against Kesgrave at our new home on the Western Corridor pitch and came back from a 2 - 0 deficit to draw the match 3 - 3, finishing well on top, which bodes well for next season!

The Bombers were awarded the Fair Play Award at the annual division presentations, by being voted by the other managers as the most sporting and friendly team in the league. Congratulations to all associated with the Bombers and particularly the team!
