Team History

The Martlesham Under 16's squad presently comprises 15 local boys, most of whom have been with the squad since it began as an Under 7's team. The boys have grown with the Club and share a common passion for the sport.

The team finished well last season in the top half of Division 1 (2006/2007). We are striving to continue to improve on this and have set our targets at a very high level for the coming season.

We had a successful tour in May 2007 competing against 20 teams from across the UK. We reached the semi finals and were proud winners of the tournament fairplay award.

Our home pitch for this season is the Recreation Ground in Old Martlesham and matches are normally Saturday morning with a 10.30 a.m. kick-off.

The Under-16's team is proud to be sponsored by Scrutton Bland, East Anglia's largest independent firm of accountants, business advisers, financial advisers and insurance brokers. Neil is a Director of the Independent Financial Advice arm of the Group. Scrutton Bland have generously provided the team with a full strip and training jackets.
